Question: Is there a feeling that you miss?
Quote: "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man without trials." - Chinese Proverb
In life, some of the feelings we used to understand easily can get lost as we grow up. Looking back at some of those feelings, we tend to miss them and hope to feel them again.
GENUINE LOVE:
When we were young, love felt simple and clear. We felt it from family and friends without thinking too much about it. Something as simple as cuddling with family or sharing toys with friends made us feel loved. But as we got older, we might have started expecting big gestures or words to feel loved. Rediscovering genuine love means remembering those simple moments of connection without needing anything fancy.
GENUINE HAPPINESS:
As kids, we found joy in small things like playing or exploring. But as we grew up, we started looking for happiness in achievements or stuff we own. Rediscovering genuine happiness means finding joy in the little things again, like laughing with friends or enjoying nature.
CURIOSITY:
Kids are always curious, wanting to learn and explore everything. They are never ashamed to ask questions no matter how absurd they may seem. But as adults, we might lose that curiosity, sticking to what we know. Rediscovering curiosity means being open to new experiences and learning, just like we did as kids.
VULNERABILITY:
Children aren't afraid to show their feelings, but as we grow up, we might hide them to avoid getting hurt. Rediscovering vulnerability means being okay with showing our true selves, even if it feels scary.
CONTENTMENT:
Contentment is finding peace and satisfaction in the present moment, appreciating what we have without constantly longing for more. As children, contentment came naturally, but as adults, we may have become caught up in the pursuit of success and comparison with others. Rediscovering contentment means finding joy in the here and now, regardless of external circumstances.
SERENITY:
Serenity is a deep sense of inner peace and tranquility, even amidst life's chaos and challenges. In childhood, serenity may have been more easily accessible, but as adults, we may find ourselves overwhelmed by responsibilities and stress. Rediscovering serenity means cultivating moments of calm and clarity, allowing ourselves to find peace within the storm.
EMPATHY:
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, fostering connection and compassion. As children, empathy came naturally as we learned to navigate social interactions and understand the emotions of those around us. However, as we mature, we may have become more focused on our own concerns, overlooking the importance of empathy in building meaningful relationships. Rediscovering empathy means reconnecting with our capacity for compassion and understanding, strengthening our connections with others and fostering a sense of community.
